The footballers of Kilmacthomas and Comeragh Gaels will have to meet again to decide the destination of this year’s Under 21 B Football title after playing out a draw in an exciting game in Walsh Park last Saturday.

Kilmacthomas got a dream start and led by 1-1 to 0-0 before a minute had been played. Midfielder Eoin Walsh opened the scoring after six seconds when he won the ball from the throw-in and raced through to open the scoring. A matter of seconds later, wing-forward Johnny Joy played a superb ball into his brother, Evan who side-stepped the advancing Eoin Dunford before firing into the empty net.

Comeragh Gaels eventually got off the mark through a well-taken point by Dermot Tobin and midfielder, Pa Walsh added to this with a point from a free.

However, things got worse for Comeragh Gaels before they got better as Kilmacthomas got another goal in the 8th minute. Once again Walsh was instrumental as he raced through the heart of the westerners defence before offloading to Martin Power who goaled with relative ease.

The two Walshes, Pa for Comeragh Gaels and Eoin for Kilmacthomas swapped frees before a free from another Walsh, Paul for Comeragh Gaels left four points between the sides with 19 minutes played.
