Tramore 1-5;   Kilrossanty 0-7

Tramore, having captured the Intermediate football title in 2008, followed up on Saturday last in winning the County Under 21 ‘B’ Football final in awful conditions at Bushy Park and in doing so, showed that Gaelic football is alive and kicking in parts of East Waterford.
The Seasiders did not get off to the best of starts, however, conceding a couple of early points from Louis McDonald and Paul Whyte, but they responded in the best possible manner by hitting two on the trot courtesy of Conor Whelan and the inspirational Dane Ormond by the tenth minute.
Paul Whyte and Declan King swapped points to ensure that by the 20th minute there was nothing between the sides. A point from Tommy Prendergast put Kilrossanty in front for a lead they held at the half-time break.

Against the wind, Tramore got off to the better start in the second period. After been awarded a 45 Declan King was in the right place at the right time as the ball dropped and he touched the ball to the net to give Tramore a two-point lead.

Alan Quinn and Dan Goggin exchanged points to keep two between the sides, after which Quinn again and Ormond swapped scores to keep things relatively close with time fading.

Tommy Prendergast hit a point for Kilrossanty to leave just the minimum between the sides, but Kilrossanty could not made any further inroads and Tramore held out for a deserved one-point win.
