Three separate events held in the past week – two held in Waterford city, the other in Carrick-on-Suir, with the latter literally straddling the Waterford/Tipperary border – truly demonstrated the better angels of our nature.
On Sunday morning, over 500 runners, joggers and walkers took to the streets of Waterford city to participate in The Munster Express/Hartley People 10 Kilometre Fun Run, to raise funds for Waterford Hospice.
Hospice, which provides medical and nursing care for patients with life limiting illnesses in their homes throughout Waterford city and county, as well as South Kilkenny, is unquestionably one of this region’s worthiest causes.
