Tramore duo Jessica Gleeson and Ciara O’Brien are 90 minutes away from European Championship glory after the Republic of Ireland’s Under-17 ladies soccer team defeated mighty Germany in their semi-final meeting on Tuesday thanks to a Megan Campbell free-kick.
Ireland will face Spain in tomorrow’s (Saturday, June 26th) final in Nyon, Switzerland at 12.30pm, a match that will be streamed live on www.rte.ie. Victory over Germany also saw Ireland secure qualification for the Under-17 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by Trinidad and Tobago from September 5th to 25th.
The Irish team is managed by ex-Waterford United player Noel King.
