MAN ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH CAPPOQUIN ROBBERY
Gardaí investigating an armed robbery in Cappoquin, which occurred last Monday afternoon, 7 April, have arrested a male in connection with the incident.
The man, aged 53, was arrested by Gardaí this morning (Tuesday, 8 April) at around 8.00 a.m., and brought to Dungarvan Garda Station where he is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and can be held for 24 hours.
ROBBERY
A male dressed in dark clothes with his hood up and face covered, entered the Cappoquin branch of Cairdre Credit Union last Monday, 7 April, at around 2.00 p.m. and demanded money. He is believed to have been armed with a knife.
The male then fled the scene on foot after obtaining a sum of cash.
There were no injuries in the incident.
Gardaí have expressed their thanks to the public for their assistance in matters.
