The promoters of a proposed major factory outlet centre in Waterford that will create 300 jobs during construction and over 200 retail and supervisory positions, say they intend lodging a full planning application with the City Council inside eight weeks.

It will be accompanied by an environmental impact statement as requested by the local authority.

Located at a former pitch and putt course on the Cork Road, the outlet centre would feature 34 retail units.

Based on international models, the project is being promoted by Junction One Investments Ltd on a site owned by Parker Green International and will be similar to the popular ‘Kildare Village’.

Parker Green MD, Dr Gerard O’Hare also confirmed construction will begin shortly on an eight-screen Omniplex cinema by David Flynn Ltd on part of its site.
