De La Salle College’s ambitious 400-space underground car park project which was to be concealed by a new all-weather sports pitch has been refused planning permission by Waterford City Council.
The project, comprehensively reported upon by this newspaper on October 15th, was described by one letter writer as “unsustainable, car-centred, maintains congestion and is funded from the proceeds of pollution”.
At the time of writing, Waterford City Council has yet to receive any formal appeal from the De La Salle Brothers.
most prominent vacant buildings within the ‘Viking Triangle’ area have also been submitted to Waterford City Council.
