Expansion is underway at
Bausch and Lomb, Waterford’s largest manufacturing plant.
Last week, the contact lens manufacturer lodged plans with Waterford City Council for a two-storey extension to its existing 28,000 sq m plant on the IDA’s Industrial Estate.
Although the news won’t lead to additional jobs at the Waterford factory, it will offer some reassurance for the future to Bausch and Lomb’s 1,200 or so local workers.
