There was great news from Dublin on Thursday last when Genzyme won the Excellence in Community Category at the 2015 Chambers Ireland CSR Awards.
As part of their wider CSR activity, Genzyme partnered with Project Treo Port Láirge to help deliver a series of training programmes designed to divert young people at risk from repeat offending behaviour.
Commenting on the win for Genzyme, Waterford Chamber President Michael O’Dwyer stated: “This is another great success for Genzyme and we compliment them in particular for supporting this local project here in Waterford.
“Through the project, young offenders are equipped with skills that greatly improve their life prospects, which is positive for themselves as individuals but also for their families and wider society.”
The judging panel selected Ulster Bank for the Outstanding Achievement Award and each winner was presented with a specially commissioned trophy designed locally by House of Waterford Crystal.
