Lismore, one of the winner’s in this year’s Tidy Towns competition, wasn’t the only area in the South-East to perform well.
Adjudication reports show that entrants across the region did brilliantly.
All entrants were marked out of a possible 400 points, and were divided into categories based on size, namely: Tidiest Village, Tidiest Small Town, Tidiest Large Town and Tidiest Large Urban Centre.
Tallanstown, Co Louth achieved the highest mark at 308 points, with Lismore close behind on 306.
Each location was examined under the categories of: Overall Development Approach; The Built Environment; Landscaping; Wildlife and Natural Amenities; Litter Control; Waste Minimisation; Tidiness; Residential Areas; Roads, Streets and Back Areas; and General Impression.
