, a position confirmed during the FBD Retail Excellence Ireland Awards, which were recently held in Kilkenny.
This is the second year that Sienna has featured in the prestigious top 50 since first opening its doors for business back in 2004.
Sienna’s Managing Director Paul Lenehan was delighted with the news. “It is a great honour to be featured amongst the top 50 businesses in Ireland,” he said.
“We have worked very hard to ensure that the retail experience is one that will have our customers coming back again and again.
“Through a combination of quality goods, a pleasant and efficient customer service and a thorough knowledge of our own industry we were delighted to be recognised by our peers for our endeavours.”
Over 400 stores entered the 2008 awards, underlining Sienna’s excellent business achievement and retail standing.
“Once again, we have been astounded by the high standards of Ireland’s retail industry,” said Retail Excellence Ireland Chief Executive David Fitzsimons.
“Our judging panel was faced with tough choices in making its decision. Congratulations must go to all our finalists, who continue to contribute greatly to the retail industry in Ireland.
“Each highlights the strength of the retail industry here, and continues to raise the standards for competitors.”
The judges rated performance based on more than 50 variables, including standard of exterior, use of windows, footfall management and service.
A thorough ‘mystery shop’ was carried out on all stores, after which the top 100 were selected for a rigorous store assessment and based on this, the top 50 was finalised.
“As the value of retail sales in Ireland currently stands at €30.61 billion, it is a very important sector for the country,” according to FBD Insurance Marketing Director Adrian Taheny.
“We are very proud to support these Awards which support the innovation, investment and extensive skill base visible in this sector, which combine to make it one of Ireland’s most competitive industries.”
