Local hoteliers have called on Waterford’s TDs to support their call for the abolition of the Joint Labour Committee (JLC) system, the reform of which is believed to be causing dissent within the coalition.
While the Irish Congress of Trade Unions believe that lowering pay for workers in the hospitality trade (which would remove premium pay on Sundays), the Irish Hotels Federation (IHF) holds a contrary view.
