We have not forgotten Ferrybank: that’s what Glenmore-based Fine Gael Councillor Fidelis Doherty told members of a local action group that wishes to see its two idle shopping complexes up and running.
Addressing the Ferrybank Shopping Centres Action Group at a meeting in Belmont on Monday, Cllr Doherty said it was in the interests of the South Kilkenny community to see these facilities finally opened.
“I would hate you to think that you have been forgotten about,” said Cllr Doherty. Pointedly, both Cllr Doherty and new Dáil Deputy John Paul Phelan were the only two politicians (from the 20 invited TDs and Councillors from Kilkenny and Waterford) who attended Monday’s meeting.
