The obscurely named Chamber Philharmonic Europe at Christ Church Cathedral on their oddly named Powerful Emotions Tour turned out to be 9 string players and a trumpet soloist. At times they sounded no stronger than a string quartet but during the second half they delivered a beautiful Bach Concert for Two Violins and an elegiac quality for Faure’s Pavane.
In the opening half two Vivaldi concertos had some infelicities of bowing and at times sounded like a string quartet while Pawel Zuzanski impressed as violin soloist.
