Mother to four children (Mandy, Donie, Niall and Niamh) and grandmother to ten (including two sets of twin boys, though there’s no other incidences of twins in the extended families), Ali McLoughlin is, arguably, also the quintessential ‘Mammy’ to another ‘family’ in Waterford – the local arts community.
But Ali has decided to end her 30 year ‘run’ at one of the city’s best known public houses. With the pub on the market, she’s now planning the biggest party the O’Connell Street establishment has seen over the years – her retirement.
