The 21st Waterford Spraoi Festival proved another tremendous success on the streets of Waterford, as the weather thankfully held up and allowed thousands to enjoy what’s become the country’s best street entertainment spectacle. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday last, the crowds turned out in force throughout the city, which was awash with colour, music, fun and laughter – and more of all four of the aforementioned would be most welcome. The welcomingly warm summer has led people to get into the ‘out and about’ habit, as opposed to resigning one’s self to indoor life during the wet summers of recent years. The entertainment yet again proved to be excellent, with musicians, magicians, mime artists all proving most popular, with the acrobats that literally illuminated the Menapia building winning great praise.
