There is comprehensive coverage of the general election in our news pages but what a watershed event it turned out to be. The public turned against Fianna Fail and the Greens in an unprecedented way and who could ever have forecast that Waterford would have no FF representative in the Dail.
Across the river in South Kilkenny, Bobby Aylward joined Brendan Kenneally in the political casualty department. That’s two big FF dynasties wiped out for the time being at least.
Good riddance to Kenneally and his Green pals.

Now all that’s left is to see is what this so-called goverment will do.
