Waterford City Councillors John Cummins and David Cullinane have expressed contrasting views on the future re-designation of Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) as a Technological University.
However, both Councillors agreed that any future third level merger should see WIT aligning itself with Carlow IT rather than the Cork IT kite flown recently by Institute President Kieran Byrne.
