GARDAÍ are investigating a break-in at Ferrybank Parish Church in which an estimated €2,000 was stolen and considerable damage caused.
Fr Jim Crotty P.P. made the discovery at the Church of the Sacred Heart, Ross Road yesterday morning (Monday) shortly after 7am.
During the incident, which occurred between 4pm on Sunday December 21st and 7am on Monday December 22nd, the sacristy’s strong safe was accessed using an electric tool, believed to have been an angle grinder.
