The combined forces of Tourin and Glen Rovers will face Kill in this year’s County Junior Hurling final following this pulsating four-point pulsating win over Ballinameela at Fraher Field on Saturday last.
The outcome was in the doubt throughout, though the side drawn from either side Cappoquin got off to a flying start when they riffled over two points in the opening three minutes, from a free, followed by a 65, both taken by County Minor star Darragh Fives.
Conor Buckley and Daithi Wilkinson exchanged points from play before David Phelan pointed a sixty-five for Ballinameela with six minutes gone, leaving just a single point in it.
Over the next 10 minutes Tourin/Glen Rovers played some delightful hurling, racing into a 1-7 to 0-3 lead just after the half’s midway mark.
Sean Leahy got the ball rolling when he hit a goal with seven minutes gone. Darragh Fives followed up with a brace of points before Ray McGlone and Daithi Wilkinson did likewise to give the eventual winners a 1-7 to 0-2 lead.
