Carrick United 3; St Saviour’s 1
Carrick have laid down a marker to all of the other clubs following this victory in Tom Drohan Park. This was their first game of the season and they came up against a St Saviour’s team who were impressive the previous week against Hibernians.
Thomas Fitzgerald gave the home side the lead but before the interval Stephen Dalton, who had scored a hat-trick against Hibs, notched his 4th goal of the new campaign to leave the sides level at the interval.
Thomas Fitzgerald showed that he is back to full fitness once again by regaining the lead for Carrick midway through the second period and Glen Keane wrapped up the points for the Coolnamuck outfit.
