Ferrybank bounced back from their away defeat to Johnville by trouncing an understrength Hibs 5-2 in Mitchell Kennedy Park on Sunday morning.
The home side had to line out without defenders Eamon Doyle and Michael Gaffney and their absence was badly felt. Star man for Ferrybank was Kevin ‘Goosie’ Roche who scored a hat-trick. Going into this match he had scored only two goals but he was back in top form here. At one stage, Ferrybank led 4-0 before David Murphy pulled a goal back with a fine header and then David McGrath scored a penalty put it was the visitors who had the last word.
Colin Roche scored a brace in the game for Paul Cashin’s outfit. The team from Abbeylands have now moved on to a total of ten points, six clear of Southend United.
