Lismore has once gain received a national accolade, named as Ireland’s Tidiest Small Town 2010.
A stalwart of the SuperValu TidyTowns competition, the West Waterford town was just two points behind the competition’s overall winner.
The announcement was made by Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government John Gormely TD and Marketing Director of SuperValu Ray Kelly at the awards ceremony on Monday held at the Helix in Dublin City University.
Lismore received a total of 306 points, with Tallanstown, County Louth (which was awarded the title of Ireland’s Tidiest Village) victorious overall on 308.
The award for Ireland’s Tidiest Large Urban Centre also went to the South-East, with Kilkenny taking the honours.
Killarney, County Kerry triumphed in Ireland’s Tidiest Large Town category.
