A proposed residential village at Pickardstown, Tramore has been appealed to An Bórd Pleanála.
Waterford County Council recently granted a 10-year planning permission to local company Monaco Developments Ltd for a mixed-use project at Waterford Road comprising a 64-bed nursing home, 53 apartments in two blocks, 207 houses, a crèche, car parking, a 6.2ha recreational/leisure area, and all associated works.

With 500m of frontage onto the main Tramore Road, the 38.5-acre site will include a multi-purpose playing pitch, tennis courts, and provision for 40 allotments, a community garden, and walking trail.

The ‘Eadon’ proposal, submitted over a year ago, was approved by the planning authority, subject to nearly 40 detailed conditions in late October.

The prospect was welcomed by local councillor Ann-Marie Power as a massive vote of confidence in the town by the developers, led by Barry Monaghan, head of Monaco Group.
