Local councillor John Cummins is impressed at the rate of progress made in cleaning up the former Árd Ri Hotel overlooking the City.
The building has been derelict for a number of years and he’s delighted to see that work to ameliorate the eyesore is continuing “at a rate of knots” in anticipation of the Tall Ships Race in June.
“This It is something which over 3,000 people on Facebook and I have campaigned long and hard for,” the Fine Gael councillor says. “I particularly want to thank the owners of the site for stepping up to the plate.
They should have taken care of this in the first place before it became an eyesore.
As it says “it has been derelict for a number of years” and just because the tall ships come back and the steady cry to fix it up now they do it.
