The RSC in Waterford will stage a rare European Championship game on Tuesday next (October 13th) when the Republic of Ireland play Switzerland.
Don Givens has named a strong squad for the game. They play Georgia in Tallaght on Friday of this week and two victories would get the Irish back on track in their qualifying group.
In recent times the Waterford venue has staged games at underage level, including the game against Spain some months ago, but this is the “real thing” because vital points are at stake.
Tickets are on sale at John Ryan’s Shop, Patrick Street and they will also be on sale at the Waterford United v Monaghan United game this Friday. Tickets are priced at €15 and €5 for children. The game against Spain was a complete sell-out and considering that was a friendly, the Switzerland match will also see the RSC house a huge crowd.
